on april 15, 2023 a civil war broke out in khartoum, sudan between two rival factions of the military government: the sudanese armed forces (saf) and the paramilitary rapid support forces (rsf) 

over 150,000 sudanese, including mostly women and children, have been killed. the numbers of dislocated and displaced are in the millions.
